JAKARTA The Indonesian Futsal National Team received a coaching fund of IDR 7.8 billion from the Government after successfully winning the 2024 ASEAN Futsal Championship.

This was confirmed by the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) of the Republic of Indonesia, Dito Ariotedjo, when he received the Garuda Squad at the Kemenpora Office, Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Dito said that the funds could be used by the Indonesian Futsal Federation (FFI) to fulfill their wishes to hold more training and trials in order to face other events in the future.

"For the achievements obtained by our friends, the Government will give appreciation in the form of coaching," said Dito.

This achievement made the Menpora hope that the Indonesian Futsal National Team could talk more in other events, such as the SEA Games next year and the Asian Games in 2026.

The captain of the Indonesian Futsal National Team, Muhammad Iqbal, on the same occasion said that to meet the target they clearly needed more trials.

Dito said that this fund could be used as well as possible to finalize the existing squad in order to improve achievement at a higher level.

"So, the hope of the camp was certainly possible. This is the form for the national training training and appreciation for yesterday's ASEAN championship," said Dito.

The Indonesian Futsal national team won the title after beating Vietnam at the top with a score of 2-0. This is Indonesia's second title in the AFF Futsal Cup after 2010.

Throughout the tournament now known as ASEAN Futsal Championship, Indonesia has performed perfectly by winning all five matches. In total, the Garuda Squad scored 22 goals and conceded only three.
