JAKARTA The team from Bekasi, ASSA Pro, representing the Jakarta region, won the 2024 Indonesian Children's League U-12 Cup Championships.

The Menpora U-12 Indonesian League Cup tournament will be held for three days from Thursday, August 29, 2024, until Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Gelora Stadium on November 10, Surabaya, East Java.

ASSA Pro impressed in the final match to seal the title. The team, which just formed two years ago, successfully beat SBM FC with a score of 6-1 to climb to the highest podium.

"I feel happy because we can meet great talents in the archipelago and we see a lot of great talent in Indonesia," said ASSA Pro coach Didik Darmadi, after his team won.

This championship was attended by a total of 16 U-12 teams from various regions in Indonesia. The participants got tickets to appear in the national series after winning the regional series in their respective regions.

Participants are divided into two groups consisting of eight teams each to take part in the preliminary. The two teams with the top points have the right to advance to the knockout stages in the semifinals.

Apart from ASSA Pro Bekasi, three other teams that broke into the semifinals were Sejahtera and Barokah Martapura (SBM) FC, Gladiator Boys Cendana (GBC) FC Batam, and Gama FA Malang.

ASSA Pro Bekasi, who will be the champion of the 2024 Indonesian League U-12 Menpora Cup, will then participate in the South East Asia Football Tallent (Seaft) tournament which will be held in Malaysia.

"This championship is also part of our preparation for Seaft in Malaysia. At Seaft in Malaysia we also represent Indonesia," said Didik.

The title made ASSA Pro rewarded with a prize of Rp25 million in coaching money. Meanwhile, the runners-up of SBM FC received Rp10 million in coaching money, followed by the third and fourth positions teams each getting Rp5 million in coaching money.

The 2024 Indonesian Children's League U-12 Menpora Cup was held by the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports through the Assistant Deputy for Educational Sports (Ordik) in Deputy 3 for Sports Empowerment.
