It Turns Out That Manchester City Has Not Been 100 Percent Even Though It Is Still Unbeaten

JAKARTA - Manchester City have made 13 competitive appearances in all 2024/2025 season events.

His record is classy, unbeaten in eight Premier League matches, three Champions Leagues, one League Cup (Carabao), and one Community Shield. A total of 10 of them ended in wins, the other three drew.

Interestingly, although no team has yet beaten The Citizens, it turns out that Pep Guardiola's team has not performed 100 percent.

One of the Manchester City stars, Phil Foden, believes that his team is still exhausted after undergoing last season.

The fatigue factor, according to Foden, has contributed to the slow start of the new season.

"Last year there were so many games. I gave all my abilities. I came back tired a little bit, that's normal. Rodri is also back like that, as well as some players."

"It's natural that if we play a lot of games, you will definitely experience fatigue at one point. I stepped in the right direction and tried to get back to my best form," Foden said as reported by ESPN.

Manchester City have just finished playing the Champions League match to host Sparta Prague on October 24, 2024.

They won again with a landslide score of 5-0 which marked two wins and a consecutive clean sheet in the Champions League, after in the first match of the series against Inter Milan.

Phil Foden became one of the players who contributed one goal in the win.

For the attacking midfielder, the appearance against Sparta Prague is his fourth appearance as a starter this season.

Foden said he was still trying to bounce back after undergoing last season's'marathon' which began in early August 2023 and ended in the Euro 2024 final in mid-July 2024.

Foden played 69 games for club and country last season. He was named the Premier League Player of the Year after scoring 19 goals to help The Citizens win their fourth straight title.

However, he struggled to get a chance this season and only started once in the league as Manchester City won 3-2 over Fulham at home earlier this month.

"I was a little tired after coming back from last year, a little sore. There were a few annoying things too."

"Some things are happening at the same time. If you talk to any player, they've all experienced it, the joys and sorrows of football."

"It was just a small obstacle, I'm happy to be back and enjoy my football," said Foden.

Apart from that, Matheus Nunes said that he finally felt comfortable at Manchester City after a year of moving from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The midfielder spent most of last season on the bench after a 53 million move.

However, after impressive from the start against Sparta Prague and scoring a penalty to ensure a 5-0 win, the 26-year-old said he felt more at home at the Etihad.

"I feel like I've adapted to the best of the season. I'm calmer, less pressing myself."

"I think it's clear to everyone since the start of the season. I just have to keep working like this."

"Just trying to play as well as possible every time I was chosen to do it," said Nunes.
