JAKARTA The Jakarta U17 League football competition for the 2025 Governor's Cup received a positive response from clubs. This can be seen from the Jakarta U17 League socialization event for the 2025 Governor's Cup which was held at the Pancoran Soccer Field (PSF) Field Cafe, MBAU, Pancoran, South Jakarta, Thursday (17/10/2024).
The socialization, which was attended by 18 club candidates participating in the U17 League competition, presented the Founder of the U17 League Competition, J. Erwiyantoro, Chairman of the Organizing Committee Azhari Nasution, Secretary General of the Taufik Committee Jusral Effendi, Plt. Chairman of PWI Jakarta, Ariandono Dijan Winardi, and was guided by the Treasurer of the U17 League Competition Committee Fatih Chabanto.
On this occasion, Erwiyantoro explained the purpose of the competition, namely to fill the void in young football competitions in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta. The full competition system was deliberately chosen to provide a sufficient competitive experience according to FIFA standards, for young players.
"In addition to filling the void, because there is no regular competition in Indonesia, of course we will also look for potential players for the national team. We will suggest that later to PSSI, so that we do not depend on naturalized players," said Erwiyantoro.
According to him, the U17 League competition he is holding will record data on all players, monitored by the talents so that the selected players from all positions will be obtained.

Secretary of the Taufik committee Jusral Effendi emphasized that this competition was held for all clubs that have U17 players, and will last for 9 months. Therefore, periodically the club may also add players, to keep them from participating in the competition, even though there are players who are unable to participate.
"What needs to be known is that this competition does not collect registration money, or any money from participating clubs. So the club can really concentrate on participating in the competition without having to think about registration money," said Taufik.
The competition, which is scheduled to be held from January to October 2025, has the support of Bank DKI, DKI Provincial Government, PWI Jakarta, and PSSI. The committee did not charge participation fees from participating clubs.
"This is extraordinary. We really need competition in Jakarta, especially the U17 one, because our fostered students need more flying hours, so they can achieve more. This fills a void where there are rarely children's competitions, especially U17. Hopefully with this League, the children will achieve more," said Firdaus from Bina Mutiara FC.
The same thing was conveyed by Mama Rangga from the Jaya Youth club. According to him, this U17 League Competition is a positive activity for young people.
"Instead of spending a lot of time in vain, it's better to follow this positive activity. And, I will encourage the children to train harder to face this U17 League," he said.
