Jorge Martin Begins To Be Haunted By The 2023 Season Competition

JAKARTA The ruler of the 2024 MotoGP standings, Jorge Martin, began to be haunted by last season's competition with Francesco Bagnaia in the race for the title.

The Spaniard is currently still 10 points ahead of Bagnaia who occupies second place. However, that position is not safe at all because there are still four series left.

Martin admits that he doesn't want to lose another title like last season which made him not want to return to this most prestigious motorcycle race.

"In February 2024 after the break, when we started again, I didn't want to go back to MotoGP. I had a lot of fear. I don't know if I can get it as soon as before," Martin said.

Last season, Martin and Bagnaia competed for the final draw at the Valencia Grand Prix. In the final standings, the two were separated by 39 points only.

Bagnaia sat at the top with a collection of 467 points, while Martin followed with 428 points. The result brought Bagnaia to defend the title.

Martin said that last season's defeat managed to forge a mentality even though he was worried. He admits that he is now much more prepared to lock up the champion.

"The current target is to fight and give 100 percent. I am stronger. I am a little better on all sides," said the rider who defended Prima Pramac Racing.

The next 2024 MotoGP competition will take place in Australia from Friday, October 18, 2024 to Sunday, October 20, 2024.

The three consecutive series will take place in Thailand from 25 to 27 October 2024, Malaysia 1-3 November 2024, and the final series will take place in Valencia, Spain, on 15-17 November 2024.
