Jack Grealish Bets 500 Pound With Trent Alexander-Arnold In Finnish Vs England Match

JAKARTA - Jack Grealish owes 500 pounds to Trent Alexander-Arnold for losing a bet in the match of Finland vs England on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

Grealish bet when Alexander-Arnold took a free kick. If it comes in, the Manchester City player will have to pay 500 pounds.

As it turned out, the Liverpool right-back managed to score a goal through a free-kick in the 74th minute.

The goal brought England away 2-0 over the hosts Finland.

Previously, Grealish was also on the scoreboard after opening England's lead in the 18th minute.

"I said to him (Alexander-Arnold) as a joke. If we score this goal, I will give you 500 pounds."

"Then he put it in. So, I owe it to him now. I think he will tell me that," Grealish told ITV.

Apart from that, Grealish celebrated his goal with a nod to the birth of his baby girl, Mila.

His wife, Sasha, gave birth to their daughter at the end of last month and Grealish collaborated when opening the advantage of the Three Lions by smoking her thumb.

The winger revealed his plans to mark Mila's birth with a unique celebration before the match.

"Yes, to be honest, do you know what I thought for a while, I just haven't managed to score a goal."

"Well, obviously I scored for England, but at that time so much happened," Grealish said.

England's victory over Finland brought them back to winning ways in the UEFA Nations League.

Three Lions had fallen when they were defeated by Greece 1-2 at Wembley Stadium three days earlier.

Now, England is in second place in the League B UEFA Nations League with nine points, just below Greece who have won the perfect points from four matches.

Next, Britain will face Greece and the Republic of Ireland next month.
