Jorge Martin Doesn't Think He Can Take Poles And Set A Record In The 2024 Mandalika MotoGP

JAKARTA - Jorge Martin performed brilliantly in the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP Qualification session, Saturday, September 28, 2024, morning WIB.

Pramac Ducati, who was removed from pole position by Enea Bastianini last week at Misano, also broke an all-time lap record in his first round.

Martin set a new record of 1 minute 29,088 seconds which made him almost a second ahead of his competitors during a tire change in the middle of the road.

The Spaniard did not notice it, but the front position has been secured.

Luckily for Martin, chaos is happening to its strong competitors. Many crashes occurred, including Marc Marquez, who experienced it twice.

Marquez's first Crash occurred at Turn 15 which caused the yellow flag to fly. He seemed to have difficulty balancing the bike so that he had a low side and ended up in the Gravel.

Not long after, it was Enea Bastianini's turn to fall at Turn 16. Then, Marquez, who didn't want to give up trying his luck again, caught up with Jorge Martin's comfortable time.

Marquez immediately changed the motorbike to return to the track. Unfortunately, he fell again at Turn 10 in the last five minutes.

"I'm very happy. Today I feel great. I've been racing with a lot of used tires."

"So I expect a big step for qualification, but maybe not that much!" said the Pramac Ducati rider as reported by Crash.

"The first broadcast went perfectly. So, it's always fun because that way I can change my strategy," he said again.

Jorge Martin's record time no one caught up until the Qualification session ended. He was 0.535 seconds ahead of Marco Bezzecki who was in second place.

Jorge Martin will start the Sprint Race today at 15.00 WIB from the leading position. Likewise when doing the race on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

Currently, Jorge Martin has a 24-point advantage over defending champion Francesco Bagnaia, in the MotoGP 2024 standings.

Bagnaia ended the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP Qualification in fourth place.
