China Open 2024: List 6 Indonesian Representatives In Round Of 16

Jonathan Christie won a ticket to the second round of the China Open 2024 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Six of the 10 Indonesian representatives sent to the 2024 China Open managed to continue their journey to the second round of the tournament.

The series of matches from the first round of the Super 1000 BWF level badminton event were completed at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, China, on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, WIB night.

The men's doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana became the last representatives to make sure they escaped after beating the Japanese pair, Kenya Mitsuhashi/Hiroki Okamura.

Leo/Bagas followed two other men's doubles, namely Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin.

The men's doubles sector actually had five representatives, but two of them had to be eliminated initially. The two pairs in question are Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.

In the second round, Thursday, September 19, 2024, the tough challenges will be faced by Leo/Bagas and Fikri/Daniel because they meet the seed.

Leo/Bagas are certain to face the second seed from Denmark, Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, and Fikri/Daniel meet the first seed from China, Liang Wei Sidang/Wang Chang.

The other three Indonesian representatives who reached the second round were the men's singles Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and the mixed doubles Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.

The second round of the 2024 China Open will take place starting at 09.00 am local time or 08.00 WIB.
