Print History To The Final, The Jakarta Women's Football Team Deserves Appreciation

The Jakarta soccer team won a silver medal at the 2024 Aceh-North PON (doc. Special).

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta women's soccer team has not won a gold medal at the 2024 National Sports Week (PON) which was held in Aceh-Sumut. They lost in the final match against the West Java team 0-3 on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Despite bringing home a silver medal, this achievement still deserves appreciation. This was revealed by the coach of the DKI Jakarta Women's Football Team, Lexyndo Hakim.

Lexy, his nickname, expressed his gratitude to all the players for their dedication and struggle in defending the good name of Jakarta at the 2024 PON.

He emphasized that even though the team had not yet won gold, the silver results were still a historic and extraordinary achievement that should be grateful for.

Moreover, this result is the best achievement for Jakarta women's football after previously not winning a medal.

This achievement also became a coverage for the people of DKI Jakarta football after the men's soccer team failed to qualify for the 2024 PON.

"Thank you for your struggle to present a medal for Jakarta. Even though you haven't won a gold medal, silver is not a bad result."

"This is extraordinary! With this result, we must not be pessimistic because as sports people, we are taught to always be optimistic," said Lexyndo.

Lexy also invited the entire team to remain grateful for this achievement.

"I invite you to be grateful. However, being grateful does not mean being satisfied. This is a form of gratitude to Allah SWT for the efforts of all of you and the prayers of the people of Jakarta who always support with the breath of optimism," said Lexy.

He further emphasized that the participation of the Jakarta team in the 2024 PON was not only a matter of chasing medals and bonuses, but they also ensured that every step and action of the team gave meaning, benefits, and inspiration to many people.

In addition, Lexy expressed his appreciation for the hospitality shown by the Jakarta women's soccer contingent while in Medan.

He also expressed satisfaction with the facilities provided by the committee, ranging from lodging in the city center, transportation, to proper consumption.

The match organizing committee is also considered to be carrying out its duties well. Then, the support of supporters who are always present in every match is a source of enthusiasm for the Jakarta team.

"Thank you also to the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta KONI, Pak Kadispora, the manager of the Mbak Sahma football team, CdM Jakarta, as well as colleagues, and senior PSSI Jakarta for the full support that has been given to this team. God willing, I will take care of this good Jakarta women's soccer team," he said.
