Hong Kong Open 2024: 3 Men's Doubles Qualifying Round Of 16

Indonesian men's doubles pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana when they appeared in the first round of the Hong Kong Open 2024 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Three of the four Indonesian men's doubles pairs who played at the Hong Kong Open 2024 managed to get a ticket to the second round.

The last ticket was obtained by the pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana who won 21-11 and 21-17 over the French doubles, Christo Popov/Toma Junior Popov, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, WIB night.

"Every game is definitely not easy, but we managed to get through it," Bagas said after the match as received in a statement from PBSI.

In the first game, the pair who won the Korea Open 2024 appeared so dominant. They were ahead in the first two points and then were left behind from the opponent.

However, four points in a row after 7-7 took them lead the interval comfortably. They managed to keep the wide gap after that.

In the second game, Leo/Bagas were under more pressure, including being behind 12-16. However, the seven consecutive points they produced after that changed the situation on the ground.

"In the second game we continued to get attacks and pressures. After being left behind by a few points, Leo and I tried to discuss how to get up," said Bagas.

Meanwhile, two other Indonesian tickets were secured by the men's doubles pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin.

Patience/Reza qualified for the second half after repatriating their senior Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan, while Fikri/Daniel defeated the Danish representative, Daniel Lundgaard Mads Vestergaard.
