JAKARTA - The men's doubles pair Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani reached the second round of the 2024 Hong Kong Open after donating the veteran doubles Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan.

Sabar/Reza managed to overcome their seniors in the two straight games 21-14 and 21-15 at Hong Kong Coliseum on Tuesday, September 10 afternoon WIB.

"Ahsan/Hendra have always been our inspiration. Their consistency is that we want to try to imitate them. We know how to discipline and maintain them when they are both training in (the national training). Looking at daily life is very natural that Daddies can still exist in high-level tournaments to this day," said Sabar.

Sabar/Reza are the first Indonesian representatives to reach the second round of the tournament. In this event, Indonesia has a total of 12 representatives who have been fielded.

Men's doubles is the sector with the most representatives, namely four pairs. Apart from the two pairs above, there are also Leo/Bagas and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin.
