Rodri Moves To Real Madrid?

JAKARTA - Real Madrid has made Rodri a priority transfer target. They want to find a long-term replacement for Toni Kroos.

The report from the US said Real Madrid could move to get Rodri by the end of next season.

The move to Bernabeu is claimed to be attractive to Rodri, who is a native of Madrid.

Currently, the 28-year-old midfielder is not committed to a new contract. Indeed, Rodri still has a contract remaining for almost three years.

However, an early extension will benefit Manchester City. The Citizens have reportedly submitted a new contract offer as soon as they found out Madrid were persuading Rodri to anchor to the Bernabeu.

They are willing to increase Rodri's salary to 375,000 pounds per week. That figure makes him the highest-paid player at Manchester City with Kevin De Bruyne.

Apart from fortifying from Real Madrid, Manchester City feels Rodri's role is still very important in the team in recent years. He was fifth in last year's Ballon d'Or.

He contributed in City's victory over their fourth Premier League title in a row this year before helping Spain win Euro 2024.

Apart from Rodri, Manchester City also wants De Bruyne to sign a new contract because his contract expires at the end of this season.

The situation means he will be able to negotiate with clubs outside the UK in January 2025, including Saudi Arabia, where previous teams have shown interest.

The new contracts offered to De Bruyne include restructuring contracts involving reducing basic salaries, but offering lucrative bonuses to compensate for the loss.
