New Round Of Massive Layoffs For PSSI Employees, Erick Thohir Claims To Be Clean-Clean

PSSI chairman Erick Thohir opened his voice about the massive layoff of PSSI employees (VOI/Ulfa Gusti).

JAKARTA - PSSI General Chairperson (Ketum), Erick Thohir, opened his voice regarding the massive layoffs (PHK) against employees at PSSI. He claimed that the decision had been considered and not a form of arrogance towards workers.

Previously, it was known that there were 43 PSSI employees who were victims of layoffs. Related to that, Erick Thohir confirmed and said that the decision to end the cooperation was made after going through the assessment process.

"We can see that releasing the teams in PSSI is not a form of arrogance. However, we have brought in what is called a well-known human resources company to conduct an assessment," said Erick Thohir when met in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

"The assessment interviewed one by one. One by one (employees), you know, were interviewed," he said.

Erick Thohir also explained that he and the Secretary General of PSSI went down directly in the process of assessing employee performance. This is done as a tangible form of transformation in order to eradicate intrigue in the federation.

"The Secretary General himself has met all employees. Starting tomorrow (September 4, 2024), I will also meet them (employees) in groups consisting of the national team's body division, the financial division, and various kinds of things."

"The problem is, I reiterated it, I don't want the previous intrigues where there are PSSI assets managed personally. It's not allowed," he said.

In the massive layoff situation carried out by PSSI, it is also known that there is abuse in the use of documentation and digital products federation by individuals for personal gain.

Therefore, Erick Thohir wants to create a better situation including the transformation of the federation.

"Yes, I'm sorry, there are cashbacks for these activities. I'm in the audit to find those things."

"Well, so I beg you to give me the opportunity to make improvements for football as a whole. The national team has, the league has, now its heart, PSSI," said Erick Thohir.

Claims from the Chairman of PSSI are clearly a new chapter in the internal chaos of the federation. The reason is, there is news that the Minister of SOEs has prepared a new carriage that was prepared last year, namely PT Garuda Sepak Bola Indonesia (GSI).

In other words, this layoff road is a way to smooth the steps to accommodate Erick Thohir's new carriage as well as PSSI's business.

As is known, PT GSI is a company formed by PSSI whose 95 percent shares are owned by the federation. While the remaining minority shares belong to the Indonesian Football Bakti Foundation.

PT GSI initially moved in the management of PSSI's business assets, such as commercial, broadcasting rights, the use of advertising billboards, to merchandise.

Gradually, the company fronted by Marshal Masita, the former PSSI Marketin Division, which was expelled by the leadership era of Mochamad Iriawan, expanded its scope of work. The description of PT GSI's work then intersects a lot with various divisions in PSSI.
