Joining The Sprint Race Session In MotoGP Aragon, Marc Marquez Is Optimistic To Enter The Podium

JAKARTA - Marc Marquez is optimistic that he can perch on the podium ahead of the 12th MotoGP race for the 2024 season. Marquez is even more confident after winning the sprint race session at the Aragon Circuit, Spain on Saturday, August 31 evening local time.

In front of his own supporters, the Spaniard appeared dominant since the training session, qualifying, and won his first win in the sprint race. Marc's younger brother, Alex Marquez was also able to reach fourth place in the sprint race session.

Thanks to the collaboration between Gresini Racing, Federal Oil and expert mechanics who were able to make the Ducati Desmosedici GP23 motorbike more comfortable to drive, Marc Marquez recorded a sprint race time of 19 minutes 50.034 seconds. When Marc Marquez's practice race reached a record fastest of 1 minute 45.801 seconds and 1 minute 46.766 seconds for the qualifying session above the wet track.

"We need to enjoy this moment, even though it's just a sprint race, the result this time is a moment to celebrate," Marc Marquez said in a press release, quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, September 1.

"At the MotorLand Aragon circuit is a difficult race and will be even more difficult in the full race, especially in terms of tire management, but we have to be happy and more comfortable with the win this time. This victory, although small, is part of the learning curve we've been through," said Marc Marquez.

Meanwhile, Alex Marquez, who started from fifth position, managed to finish fourth with 6 points. The racer with the number #73 looks very excited and comfortable to race in his homeland.

"I went wide at the seventh corner and lost more than a second. The speed was good, but we needed to improve our feelings for the track," said Alex.

"I think we can play an important role throughout the race. I'm not sure it deserves to be on the podium, but I have what it takes to finish in the top 5," said Alex.

In the MotoGP standings, Marc Marquez is in fourth place with 204 points. Meanwhile, Alex Marquez is in ninth position with 104 points.
