League Results 1: Malut United Hold Imbang The Host Of Persik Kediri 0-0

JAKARTA - The Malut United promotion team held Persik Kediri's draw with a score of 0-0, in the Liga 1 match at Brawijaya Stadium, Kediri, Sunday afternoon.

The result extended North Maluku's slick record at the beginning of Liga 1 this season. Previously, North Maluku opened the season by holding the draw for last season's finalists Madura United 1-1, before holding Persebaya Surabaya to a 0-0 draw.

As for Persik, the draw shows they are not consistent at the start of the season. The White Tigers started the season with a 1-3 defeat to their Bali United guests, before winning 2-0 at PSS Sleman headquarters.

With the results in Kediri, North Maluku occupies the tenth position in the standings with three points. Meanwhile, Persik one strip above it is the ninth position with four points.

With the status of the visitors, it was North Maluku who got the first chance in the fifth minute. Attacker Jorge Correa fired at Persik's goal which had not resulted in a goal.

Persik tried to threaten back. This time Ze Valente's shot hit the North Maluku goal post, while Ramiro Fergonzi's shot could still be parried by North Maluku goalkeeper Muhammad Fahri.

The meeting defense demonstrated by the two teams made it difficult for each team to create another clean opportunity. The first half closed with a score of 0-0.

In the second half, Fergonzi received a corner kick which was continued with a header. But the ball still bounced over the Malut crossbar.

In the next dangerous dead ball situation, Malut defender Wahyu Prast headed in a free kick which Persik goalkeeper Leonardo Navacchio could anticipate.

Towards the end of the match, Persik had the opportunity to end the match with a goal record. Fergonzi threatened the North Maluku goal with his shot in the penalty box which goalkeeper Fahri still saved, while Manahati Lestusen was still able to block the ball into his goal from Hamra Hehanusa's header.

Persik had one last chance when Ezra Walian fired a hard shot, which goalkeeper Fahri again failed. The glasses score also closed this match.
