Japan Open 2024: 2 Indonesian Representatives In The Semifinals

JAKARTA Indonesia has two representatives who get tickets to the semifinals of the Japan Open 2024. Both are from the men's doubles sector.

The series of matches in the quarter-finals of this tournament will be completed on Friday, August 23, 2024, WIB night. The last ticket that Indonesia got came from the pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana.

The pair reached the semifinals after stopping Japan's representative, Kenya Mitsuhashi/Hiroki Okamura, in two straight games.

In the last four, Leo/Bagas will meet Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin, the eighth seed from Malaysia who sent the pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto home.

The other semifinal ticket comes from Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin. This double stops Chinese representatives, Chen Bo Yang/Liu Yi.

Fikri/Daniel will be subjected to a tough test in the top four on Saturday, August 24, 2024. The reason is, they will meet with the third seed from South Korea, Kang Min-hyuk/Seo Seung-jae.

Being able to reach the semifinals is a good record for the two men's doubles. This is their first semifinal after the formation reshuffle.

Previously, Leo was paired with Daniel and Bagas with Fikri. However, PBSI decided to rotate these two pairs to refresh and at the same time hope that there would be an increase in achievement.
