List 10 Of Paris 2024 Paralympic Qualifying Sports

Menpora Dito Ariotedjo has officially inaugurated the Indonesian contingent for the 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics (doc. NPC).

JAKARTA Indonesia has passed 10 sports (sports) to the Paris 2024 Paralympics which will take place from August 28 to September 8, 2024.

The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, has officially confirmed and released the Indonesian Paralympic Contingent on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

There were 26 athletes from eight sports who attended the event, which took place at the Paralympic Training Center, Delingan, Karanganyar Regency.

Meanwhile, two other sports, each with five athletes from archery and four boccia athletes, had already left for France on August 5, 2024.

The number of sports and athletes who qualified this year increased compared to participation in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics which was postponed for a year due to the corona pandemic. At that time, Indonesia sent 23 athletes from seven sports.

Chef De Mission (CdM) Indonesia, Reda Manthovani, said that the Indonesian contingent is targeting to bring home one gold medal, two silver medals, and three bronze medals from the 2024 Paralympics.

"We believe this target can be achieved with the efforts and careful and serious preparations that have been carried out by all sportsmen, officials, and all related parties," said Reda.

The departing athletes were accompanied by 62 officials consisting of 31 coaching teams, eight managers, four medical teams, two chef de mission deputies, 11 chef de mission teams, and six media teams.

The 2024 Paralympics are the 17th edition since it was first held in Rome 1960. The big group of Indonesian contingents will leave for France on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.
