JAKARTA The gold medalists at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Veddriq Leonardo and Rizki Juniansyah, will arrive in Indonesia on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, WIB night.

The two names departed from Paris on two different flights, each with their fellow colleagues in rock climbing and weightlifting.

In the information received, Rizki Juniansyah flew with lifter Nurul Akmal. They are expected to land at Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 22:10 WIB.

Five minutes later, it was Veddriq Leonardo's turn to land with three other terbing climbing athletes, namely Rahmad Adi Mulyono, Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, and Rajiah Sallsabillah.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Indonesia brought home three medals in total. Veddriq and Rizki each contributed one gold medal.

Then, one bronze medal was won by the women's singles badminton player, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.

Veddriq was the first Indonesian athlete to get gold in Paris on Thursday, August 8, 2024, after he managed to become the best at rock climbing the men's speed.

In the final round, Veddriq was recorded to beat his Chinese competitor, Wu Peng, with a time difference of 0.02 seconds. Veddriq finished 4.75 seconds, while Wu Peng finished 4.77 seconds.

The same day, Rizki followed after making a total lift of 354 kilograms in the men's 73 kilogram class. He eliminated Thailand's representative Weeraphon Wichuma (346 kilograms) and Bulgarian athlete Bozhidar Andreev (344 kilograms).

This is the first time in Indonesian history to be able to get a gold medal from a sport (sports) other than badminton.

These two gold medals at the same time repeat Indonesia's success at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Spain. Two gold medals in one Olympics are still Indonesia's best record in the world's largest multi-events.
