JAKARTA Muhammad Fadil Imran officially occupies the position of General Chairperson (Ketum) of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) for the 2024-2028 term.
Fadil was elected as the Head of the 2024 PBSI National Conference (Munas) which took place at Empire Palace Surabaya, East Java, Saturday, August 10, 2024.
He rose in the highest position for the national badminton parent to replace the previous general chairman who was held by Agung Firman Sampurna.
Fadil is the sole candidate chosen by 34 PBSI Provincial Management (Pengprov). The majority of the votes made four other provincial leaders agree to Fadil occupy the position of Chairman.

Previously, Fadil had already held the position of Secretary General of PBSI during Agung's term of office. So, he is not a foreigner within the scope of the federation.
The election of Fadil certainly gave a lot of new hope for Indonesian badminton. Moreover, this year the sport did not donate a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In the four-year event, badminton is usually Indonesia's greatest strength to bring home a gold medal. However, it failed to materialize this year.
The best badminton achievement at this year's Olympics was winning a bronze medal through women's singles badminton player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.
