Liga 1 2024/2025 Opening: Show 200 Dancers

The opening of BRI Liga 1 Indonesia 2024/2024 at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung, West Java, Friday, August 9, 2024 (VOI/Cosmas Kopong Beda).

As many as 200 dancers present traditional dance performances marking the opening of Liga 1 2024/2025.

The opening ceremony of Indonesia's highest level league began at 18.45 WIB before the Persib Bandung versus PSBS Biak duel at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung, Friday, August 9, 2024, WIB night.

The series of ceremonies actually started at 17.30 WIB. In the arrangement of events, there was also a mini match between 79 SSB players versus eight national team legends.

The dances presented ahead of kick-off are Sundanese culture, Boboko dance, and Sisingaan dance. There are also performances from Lesti and Lady Rara alias Tiyara Ramadhani.

The two singers then guided the song Indonesia Raya and followed by a symbolic kick-off carried out by the Deputy Chairperson of PSS, Zainudin Amali, BRI representatives, and PT Liga Indonesia Baru.

The duel between Persib Bandung and Biak is the inaugural match of Liga 1 2024/2025. Both teams came with the status of both champions.

Persib is the defending champion of Liga 1, while PSBS Biak is the promotion team after last season's 2023/2024 Liga 2 champion.

As is known, Liga 1 2024/2025 applies one new rule. The rule is that each contestant may recruit eight foreign players, both from Asia and Europe.

The number of eight foreign players is the highest number in the history of the Indonesian league. However, in its application only six players are allowed to play on the field together.

The remaining two can be included in the squad list and sit on the bench. They can play with a note that they must enter to replace fellow foreign thugs.
