2024 Olympic Schedule: Indonesia's Gold Medal Hope Still Exists

JAKARTA Indonesia has the last chance to win a gold medal from the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Indonesian contingent still has four athletes left in Paris 2024 out of three sports (sports), namely weightlifting, rock jets, and bicycle racing.

Three of them will fight today, Thursday, August 8, 2024. Those who appear are Veddriq Leonardo (rocket climbing), Bernard van Alert (cycling), and Rizki Juniansyah (weightlifting).

In terms of opportunities, the biggest is in Veddriq and Rizki. However, this does not mean reducing the opportunities Bernard has.

Veddriq appeared in the men's speed number rock climbing quarter-final against France's Bassa Mawem, at Le Boruget Climbing Venue at 17.35 WIB.

The semifinals and finals of the men's speed number will also take place today. Thus, if you go far to the final, Veddriq will fight three times.

After that, it was Bernard van Aert's turn from the men's omnium number bicycle race which will compete. The athlete from Pontianak competed at 22:38 WIB.

Meanwhile, Rizki will appear in the men's 73 kg weightlifting at the 2024 Olympics. The match will be held starting Friday, August 9, 202, early in the morning at 00.30 WIB.

Indonesia has so far only received one bronze medal. The only medal was contributed by the women's singles badminton player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung.

Meanwhile, on August 11, 2024, there is still an Indonesian women's lifter, Nurul Akmal, who will compete. He will compete in the +81 kg class at 16.30 WIB.

Nurul is also Indonesia's hope to bring home the final medal.
