JAKARTA - The Paris 2024 Olympic basketball sport is entering the quarter-finals. The match schedule for this phase has been set and will be held starting Tuesday, August 6.

Germany vs Greece - 16.00 WIB

World Cup Champion Basketball FIBA 2023 Germany advanced with a record 3-0 win in their group. Germany reached the quarter-finals of the Olympics in a row for the first time in history. Meanwhile, its opponent, Greece, escaped the group stage through the best third-placed team with a record of 1-2, losing to Canada and Spain in their first Olympics since 2008.

Hosts and three-time Olympic silver medalists (1948, 2000, 2021), France, reached the quarter-finals for the third time in a row. They set a 2-1 record in their group and ended up in second place under Germany. Canada set a perfect 3-0 record to become the leader of Group A, which has also been their highest achievement since 2000.

Canada only has a record 2-6 in the history of matches against France, including defeats in the quarter-finals of the 2000 Olympics. However, in the last match the two teams in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup competition which was held at the Indonesia Arena Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Canada won over France by a difference of up to 30 points.

The United States advanced with a record 3-0 in the group phase and convincingly won their fifth Olympic gold medal in a row.

The United States holds a 23-10 record throughout the meeting against Brazil, including a 9-0 record at the Olympics. The last time the two teams met at the Olympics took place was in 1996.
