Batak Runs 2024, Voices Inclusiveness And Solidarity Of The Batak Tribe

JAKARTA - One LoveSpiritHope Community from HKBP Pasar Rebo officially launched Batak Run 2024. This event will be held at QBIG Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) City, Tangerang, Banten, on September 15, 2024.

Cited from the concept of "Hybrid Fun Walk and Fun Run for Donation", this event was held as a form of support for the HKBP Inclusive Ecumenical Year which aims to voice inclusiveness, unity in the diversity and solidarity of the Batak tribe.

Participants of Batak Run can choose two routes, namely 2.5 kilometers and 5 kilometers, either directly in QBIG BSD City or virtually.

"We are very enthusiastic about welcoming Batak Run 2024," said Andrian Yulianto, a representative from Activin, Tuesday, July 30.

"In this event, we will ensure that the route to be followed is a challenging route but remains friendly to runners with varying levels of ability," he continued.

Different Running Experiences

Batak Run 2024 offers an unforgettable running experience by combining the spirit of sports, Batak cultural wealth, and social awareness.

One of the uniqueness of this event is the atmosphere of the event which is thick with the nuances of Batak. In a race with a distance of 2.5 kilometers, participants will be treated to various interesting performances and activities with the theme of Batak, such as traditional Batak dance, Tortor, accompanied by Batak music.

In addition, participants will also get a race pack containing exclusive jerseys, medals and bid numbers with a typical Batak design. In the race village, entertainment will also be presented by the performers with the Batak ethnic background.

A Master Runner who is also an advisor in the 2024 Batak Run, Patar Marlon Siregar, appreciated the initiative to organize this event.

Lari is a sport that can be done by anyone and anywhere so I believe the Batak Run can be followed by everyone - across ages, interfaith, and even across ethnicities - incorporating the seriousness of sports and pleasure for doing activities with family and colleagues," said Patar.

Donations For Humanity

All donations collected from Batak Run 2024 will be distributed to HKBP VIII Jakarta District to support the HKBP Cares for Disabilities program.

"This program aims to improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities through various activities, such as skills training, providing facilities and infrastructure, as well as advocacy," said Praes HKBP DKI Jakarta District VIII., Rev. Bernard Manik, M.Th.

Rev. Dahlan Munthe, M.Th as Rev. Ressort HKBP Pasar Rebo added, "The 2024 Running Point is expected to be an inspiration to the community that even through sports we can be a blessing and show love for others."

Event Batak Run 2024 also opens opportunities for people with disabilities to experience a memorable running experience. The disabled who took part in this event will be assisted by runners and companions using a wheelchair.

"OneLoveSpiritHope Community and Activin are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone regardless of physical views, can participate and enjoy this event," said Chairman of the 2024 Batak Run Committee, SJ Dewantara Nababan.

"Together, we celebrate diversity and make this event a symbol of unity and inclusiveness," he continued.

The registration fee of Rp. 275,000 includes a donation of Rp. 25,000 which will be donated to the HKBP Cares for Disabilities program.
