Mayor Of Gibran, Calls Fans' Obedience The Key To The Success Of The Menpora Cup With A Prize Of IDR 2 Billion

JAKARTA - Ahead of the 2021 Menpora Cup, the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming, reminded all football supporters, especially those in his area, to watch matches at home.

"I emphasize to all supporters to watch at their respective homes. There is no Nobar (watching together)", said Gibran at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Saturday, as reported by Antara.

The eldest son of President Joko Widodo considers the obedience of football fans to be one of the keys to the success of holding the 2021 Menpora Cup.

Especially considering the Menpora Cup 2021 was held with the implementation of a strict health protocol for preventing COVID-19.

Meanwhile, General Chairman of PSSI Mochamad Iriawan, for the umpteenth time, asked supporters not to come to the stadium or make a crowd during the implementation of the Menpora Cup.

If there is a violation, Iriawan ensures that the Police will take a firm stance so that they will not issue crowd permits for Liga 1 and 2 for the 2021 season.

"The National Police, of course, see this", said the man who is usually called Iwan Bule.

Regarding security, he said the stadium environment is divided into four zones, and three of them are inside the stadium.

The retired Police officer with the final rank of Commissioner General of Police emphasized that a maximum of only 299 people can be in the stadium and all of them must also have been tested for antigen.

"Beyond that number, they cannot enter", said Iriawan.

The Menpora Cup 2021 will take place on March 21-April 25, 2021. The tournament will be opened by the Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali at Manahan Stadium, Solo, on Sunday with the first match of Arema FC versus Tira Persikabo.

The opening ceremony will be carried out simply because Indonesia is still struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Menpora Cup was attended by 17 League 1 teams which were divided into four groups, namely Group A (held at Manahan Stadium, Solo), Group B (Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang), Group C (Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung) and Group D ( Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman).

From the group stage, the top two teams will step into the last eight, then the semifinals and finals. The Menpora Cup 2021 winners will receive a cash prize of IDR 2 billion.
