JAKARTA - President Director (Director) of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Ferry Paulus, officially ratified a new regulation regarding foreign players for Liga 1 2024/2025. This was approved at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) at the Fairmont Hotel, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

At the meeting, several decisions and agreements were made. One of them is related to the ratification of foreign player regulations for the new season, which amounted to eight people.

Regarding the increasing number of foreign players, PT LIB said there were no rules regarding the criteria for the player's country to come from or be free.

"The player's regulations, based on those that have been determined, there are eight foreign players. Whether it's Asia or non-Asian," said Ferry Paulus in a statement after the GMS agenda.

Although he did not give rules regarding the origin of foreign player countries, Ferry Paulus explained that there are rules that the club must obey regarding foreign players while on the field.

Of the eight foreign players, only six players can take to the field or when playing together. The rest, must be on the bench.

If the foreign players who play must be replaced, the club is allowed to include foreign players as well. Therefore, these eight foreign players may be included in the line-up (DSP) list.

"Eight of them (foreign players) are in DSP and can play six. They are all free, all Asian or non-Asian."

"So, later on bench there will be 23 players, foreigners change to foreigners. For example, eight foreign players in DSP, six foreign players playing, well, this foreign player changes to other foreigners," said Ferry.
