Slovenia Vs Denmark: 1 - 1, First Draw At Euro 2024

JAKARTA - The match between Slovenia and Denmark ended in a 1-1 draw, becoming the first series at Euro 2024. The inaugural Group C match which was held on June 16, 2024, at the Mercedes-Benz Arena Stadium, Stuttgart, was very meaningful for the unseeded Slovenians.

The match started at a high tempo. Both teams showed intention to attack since the first whistle. But Denmark took the lead through Christian Eriksen. This goal came after Eriksen received a pass from Jonas Wind and fired a powerful shot from outside the box which the Slovenian goalkeeper Jan Oblak was unable to block. The second half started with high intensity. Morten Hjulmand from Denmark received a yellow card in the 50th minute for a foul on Benjamin Sesko. Denmark continued to threaten, including through Eriksen's free kick in the 55th minute which hit the crossbar.

Slovenia began to rise and create chances. Adam Gnezda Cerin's header in the 67th minute and Benjamin Sesko's shot in the 76th minute almost equalized, but still failed to penetrate Kasper Schmeichel's goal.

In the 77th minute, Erik Janza from Slovenia managed to equalize. His shot from outside the penalty box was deflected by a Danish defender and into Schmeichel's goal, turning the score 1-1.

Slovenia continues to suppress the Danish defense. Andraz Sporar had several golden opportunities but failed to take advantage of the opportunity. Denmark made substitutions to strengthen their midfield and attack.

Towards the end of the match, both teams tried hard to score the winning goal. Slovenia dominated in the final minutes, but Denmark's defense remained strong. Until the long whistle sounded, the score did not change and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

This match shows Slovenia's resilience that managed to bounce back after falling behind, while Denmark had to settle for one point despite winning through Eriksen's beautiful goal. Both teams share points in this game full of drama and high intensity.

Eriksen, who was rushed to the hospital in 2021 due to a heart attack on the field at Euro 2020, this time appeared prime and was entitled to the title Man of The Match.
