Self Adjustment, Weightlifting Team Departs Early For The Olympics

JAKARTA - To accelerate or adjust to different climates in the face of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Indonesian Weightlifting Team and athletes (PABSI) will depart early for France.

"They (the weightlifting team) on July 21 left for Montpellier and then went to the athletes village on August 4," said Chef de Mission (CdM) of the Indonesian contingent for the 2024 Paris Olympics Anindya Novyan Bakrie in a voice recording received in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 15.

He said, with departures early, the team had enough time to accelerate and make preparations in France before competing in the Olympics.

Weightlifting Indonesia has passed three athletes to appear in the world's highest sports competition in Paris, namely Eko Yuli Irawan (61 kg), Rizki Juniansyah (73 kg), and Nurul Akmal (+81 kg).

Anindya said the three lifters had high targets and each advantage in their respective classes.

Therefore, he admitted that he was confident in various extraordinary preparations through the national training camp held by the PABSI Executive Board, the athletes could achieve their targets.

Furthermore, Anindya ensured that the CdM team would try to provide the best service in terms of logistics and supporting facilities for athletes and teams while in Paris.

He will continue to communicate directly with athletes and coaches about what needs can be helped because they know better from the technical side.

Furthermore, he said the psychological condition of the weightlifters who were already good must be maintained until they competed at the Paris Olympics.

Anindya said that the important thing that athletes need to do is to stay focused on training, maintain rest, and get comfort.

"So they already know what to do to achieve the target, the important thing is that they know there are teams that always support them," he concluded.
