Shin Tae-yong Fixes Two Things To Qualify For The Third Round Of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, discussed the opportunity to qualify for the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. Leaving one last match, he admitted that there were special things that had to be addressed.

To secure a place in the third round, the Indonesian national team must win against the Philippines on June 11, 2024 at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta.

The defeat made Shin Tae-yong's team inevitably have to win against the Philippines to win a ticket to the third round.

"So, we can develop again, analyze again, and be better in the future. If we fight the top 5 Asian team, we will fight more, attack and be more aggressive," he said.

Shin Tae-yong admits that the five top Asian teams definitely have different styles of play. However, according to him, the most important thing to fix from the Garuda Squad is the quality of passing.

"There are definitely different styles of play from South Korea, Japan, and others. However, what I have to evaluate is a pass error. That's what we need to fix again," he said.
