JAKARTA - The 2021 Menpora Cup Organizing Committee (OC) confirmed the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang Regency, East Java, is ready to be used by clubs to compete in the Menpora Cup which will start on March 21st.

The Kanjuruhan Malang Stadium will be the venue for the four teams included in the Menpora Cup Group B, namely Borneo FC, Persija Jakarta, Bhayangkara FC, and PSM Makassar.

"We are trying to see the current conditions of the Kanjuruhan Stadium. As a result, there is not much that needs to be repaired from the stadium. All conditions are still the same as in the last year," said Chairman of the OC for Menpora Cup 2021 Akhmad Hadian Lukita, quoted from Antara, Thursday, March 11.

In the review of the stadium which is the home base of Arema FC, Akhmad Hadian and Deputy Chairman of OC Sudjarno were accompanied by Abdul Haris as Chairman of the Malang Local Organizing Committee (LOC).

OC saw firsthand the details and some of the facilities owned by the stadium in Malang Regency, including field conditions, stadium lights, changing rooms for players, referee rooms, medical rooms, VVIP stands and media stands.

"In principle, everything is ready. Just 'update' some things related to health protocols. Especially for this, we will communicate more intensively with the LOC," said Sudjarno.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Malang Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Abdul Haris said that his party had made special preparations and internal coordination for the match that was held at the Kanjuruhan Stadium.

"After all, the preparation must be earlier. Apart from having no matches for a year, we also have to study in detail how to hold matches during the COVID-19 pandemic," said Haris.

Last week, the 2021 Menpora Cup OC also directly reviewed the condition of the Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung, then on Wednesday (10/3) visited the Maguwoharjo Sleman Stadium and the Solo Manahan Stadium.

The four stadiums were designated as venues for the 2021 Menpora Cup qualifying round, namely Manahan Stadium for Group A, Kanjuruhan Stadium (Group B), Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Group C), and Maguwoharjo Stadium for Group D.
