Oleksandr Usyk Complains About The Canvas Ring Which Will Become A Duel Arena Against Tyson Fury

JAKARTA - Oleksandr Usyk's team expressed their complaints about the dangers of the canvas ring which will be the arena for the fight against Tyson Fury.

The concern about the ring in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, actually refers to what happened three years ago.

Sky Sport Boxing reports the Usyk camp has filed a complaint that the seams of the ring canvas in Saudi Arabia could pose a stumbling danger.

In the same place three years ago, on the night Usyk won his second win over Anthony Joshua, Filip Hrgovic and Zhilei Zhang slipped in the ring while talking to the referee.

This canvas controversy continues the dramatic development of what Fury calls the 'Big Battle of this Century' which is worth more than 100 million pounds in total.

Previously, the drama occurred before the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight.

Fury withdrew from a live interview on Good Morning Britain ITV on Thursday, May 16, 2024, due to his training schedule.

Then, there was also an incident where Tyson Fury's father, John, suffered an injury to his head after heading out to one of Usyk's team members.

"This is a fight of all time, no one can match it."

"Not a show fight, not a crossover fight, not YouTube boxing."

"These are two unbeaten world heavyweight champions and fighting for all the belts and have never been done again since then (1999)," said Fury.

"We both cannot have the destiny to be indisputable in this era. We will not be young enough to enter another era without being denied. So, this is the day for both fighters," he said again.

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk fight for the undisputed world heavyweight title on May 18, 2024 in Saudi Arabia.

The title has not been held for a long time. Last time, Lennox Lewis won the title in 1999 or 25 years ago.

The duel was in the first 100 million pounds. However, Fury's promoter, Bob Arum, assessed that the figure was still not big enough for the Fury vs Usyk fight.

"If you tell Tyson Fury that he will make 100 million US dollars (78 million pounds), he will be very disappointed because he thinks, and I think he is right, that he will earn even more. I don't know the numbers, but the numbers (should be) more than 100 million US dollars," said Bob Arum.
