Injury To Hit Bayern Munich Ahead Of Real Madrid's Match Against The Second Leg Of The Champions League Semifinals

Bayern Munich had to face a big ordeal ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, on Wednesday 8 May. Two mainstay defenders Raphael Guerreiro and Eric Dier were forced to experience injuries questioning their availability for the important match.

"Rapha may miss the second leg. It looks like we are unlucky," said Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel as reported by AFP on Sunday.

Guerreiro, who suffered a hamstring injury during the 1-3 defeat to Stuttgart, is expected to miss the match, while Dier, who suffered a leg injury from a clash with Stuttgart, is still in the process of recovering. However, it is hoped that Dier will be able to appear in the match against Madrid.

"I spoke to him after the game, and he could recognize me, so I don't think it was a serious injury," said Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl.

In addition, Bayern's main defender, Matthijs De Ligt, is also doubtful about appearing due to a knee injury. Even though it is in the process of recovering, it is still uncertain whether De Ligt will be ready to play.

"Matthijs trained separately today and seems to be getting better, so he's going back to training with the team starting tomorrow," Tuchel said.
