Jay Idzes' Two Goals Unable To Save Venezia From Defeat

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team player, Jay Idzes, managed to score two goals in the match against Catanzaro at the Ceravolo Stadium, Wednesday, May 1. Unfortunately, the Jay team had to lose with a score of 2-3.

Venezia goalkeeper Jesse Joronen made the Venezia public smile when he managed to ward off Pietro's penalty. However, this penalty had to be repeated and Pietro again won the trust of not wasting his job in this second kick to bring Catanzaro to close the game with a 3-2 win.

After the match, reported by Venezia's official website, Wednesday, coach Paolo Vanoli said the match, which was stopped due to heavy rains, was a "strange match".

The 51-year-old coach added that his team should have played more calmly when the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

"It's great to see a team that even in ten games wants to try to win but sometimes you have to have clarity to understand that keeping a draw can be useful. We should probably be calmer," he added.

In addition to scoring two goals, in that match Idzes also recorded three sweeps, one blocked shot, one intercept, one tackle, 39 touches, 26 passes with 81 percent, one key pass, three long passes successful from eight, two ground duels successful from three chances, and one aerial duels successfully from three chances.

This defeat left Venezia in the playoff promotion zone to Serie A, in third place with 67 points.

With the remaining two matches, Idzes and his friends' chances of qualifying automatically for the highest caste are still there, but thin because of the difference of four points from Como who is in second place, the last position is in the automatic promotion zone.

Venezia will play Week 37 of Serie B this weekend at home to FeralpiSalo at Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium, Sunday (5/5) at 20.00 WIB.
