JAKARTA - The Indonesian team that appeared in the 2024 Thomas Cup managed to secure the title as winners of Group C. This was confirmed after the last match played by Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo closed with the seeds 19-21, 24-22 and 21-14. Appearing at the Sport Center Gymnasium, China on Wednesday, May 1 evening WIB, Chico must face Srikanth Kidambi who represents India. The reason is that before this, Indonesia's representative who competed in the men's doubles, Leo Carnando/Daniel Martin has also won for Indonesia's advantage. Facing Dhruv Kapila/Sai Pratheek, Leo/Daniel won two straight games with a score of 22-20 and 21-11. In addition to two wins from Chico and Leo/Daniel, the Red and White team, which finally pocketed a 4-1 score over India in Group C, also received points from Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana and Jonatan Christie. Fikri/Bagas won over Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty with a final score of 24-22, 22-24 and 21-19.
