Cagliari Player's Suicide Goal Saves Juventus From Defeat

JAKARTA - Juventus escaped defeat after Alberto Dossena's own goal changed the score to 2-2 in the Italian Serie A duel against Cagliari at the Sardegna Arena Stadium, Saturday, April 20, 2024 in the morning WIB.

Juve drew for the second time in a row. Previously, Juve, who played an away match, was arrested by Torino without a goal.

An additional one point from the match against Cagliari made the Bianconeri pocket 64 points. Juve, who is ranked third, is still five points ahead of Bologna, who is in fourth place.

Bologna will visit AS Roma's headquarters, which is ranked fifth. Roma has ambitions to shift Bologna to enter the Champions League zone. Apalag, the Giallorossi, which has 55 points, is only four points adrift of Bologna.

Meanwhile, Cagliari is still stuck at the bottom by rank 14. They are only five points ahead of Frosinone who are in the relegation zone.

In that match, Cagliari immediately took a two-goal lead which was all scored from the penalty spot. The hosts' first goal was created in the 30th minute. The penalty was given after the Bremer defender was declared a handball in the forbidden box.

Referee Marco Piccinini briefly reviewed the incident via VAR. After reviewing it, Piccinini stated that Bremer had touched the ball with his hand and pointed to the spot.

Midfielder Gianluca Gaetano completed the execution by tricking goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny. A 1-0 lead made Cagliari's players excited to press the opponent.

The result was only six minutes later, Cagliari added a goal which was also scored from the penalty spot. This time, Szczesny who committed the foul by bringing down striker Zito Luvumbo.

The penalty execution was not carried out by Gaetano but Yerry Mina. However, Mina successfully broke into Juve's goal. Score 2-0 for Cagliari and lasted until halftime.

In the second half, Juve tried to get up. Meanwhile Cagliari hopes to maintain that advantage. But they actually lowered the tempo of the game.

Juve managed to develop the game and patience of Massimiliano Allegri's players also paid off.

Dusan Vlahovic striker scored a beautiful goal from a free kick outside the penalty box in the 61st minute.

Furthermore, La Vecchia hala got a second goal towards the end of the match. Defender Alberto Dossena made a blunder by making an own goal in the 87th minute.

The score changed to 2-2. No more goals were created until the last minute. The draw lasted until the end of the match.
