Madrid Spain Masters 2024: 9 Indonesian Representatives In The Round Of 16

JAKARTA A total of nine Indonesian representatives successfully passed the first round and qualified for the last 16 of the 2024 Madrid Spain Masters badminton tournament. The series of round 32 of the Super 300 BWF level event was completed at the Centro Deportivo Municipal Galur, Madrid, Spain, Wednesday, March 27 evening WIB. Men's singles became the only sector without remaining representatives. Alwi Farhan as the sole ambassador who took part in this event, had already fallen the earliest in the qualifying round. From the surviving sectors, mixed doubles had the most representatives. This number still has four pairs that will compete in the second round later. The four representatives are, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati, Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah, and Jafar Hidayatullah/Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata. From this number, the only representatives who cannot get through the first round are the seventh seed pair, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjajaja. In the next-to-leading order, the sector with the second most representatives is the women's singles. Here there are still Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo, Komang Cayu Cahya Dewi, and Putri Kusuma Wardani. Meanwhile, the other two sectors, namely the men's doubles and women's doubles each still have one representative.
