Shin Tae-yong Calls Three Players To Patch The Indonesian National Team Squad

Shin Tae-yong called three players (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will face Vietnam in the fourth match of the second round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification Group in the Asian Zone at My Dinh Stadium, Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

Shin Tae-yong said the current condition of his team. He said there were some players whose conditions were not ideal.

"The condition of the players is not very good. There are some players whose conditions are quite severe," said Shin Tae-yong.

No wonder, the South Korean coach had to make a small overhaul when he left for Hanoi. A number of players had to be absent due to their physical condition and accumulation.

The Garuda squad had to lose Nadeo Argawinata and Marc Klok who were injured. Then, Sandy Walsh was confirmed absent because he had to serve a card accumulation sentence.

Shin Tae-yong then called a number of players to fill the perforated position, one of which was Ernando Ari Sutaryadi.

"For Nadeo, we decided not to be taken. His position was replaced by Ernando. Second, Marc Klok also suffered an injury so we didn't take him," said Shin Tae-yong.

Apart from Ernando, Shin Tae-yong also called two other names, namely Muhammad Ferarri and Rachmat Irianto. The two of them followed Hanoi on Sunday, March 24, 2024.

Muhammad Ferarri stated that he was very enthusiastic about this summons.

"Alhamdulillah, I got a call to strengthen the Indonesian national team against Vietnam. I hope this opportunity I can take advantage of it as well as possible," said Ferarri.

So far, the Garuda Squad is in second place in the 2026 World Cup Qualification Group F standings with a collection of four points.

An additional three points were obtained when the Indonesian national team beat Vietnam 1-0 at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium on March 21, 2024. The single goal for the Red and White Team's victory was scored by Egy Maulana Vikri (52').
