Justin Hubner Loaned To Japanese Club

Justin Hubner was loaned to Cerezo Osaka (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - Justin Hubner got a new port after failing to get a minute to play with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He was loaned to the J1 League club, Cerezo Osaka, effective from March 12, 2024 to December 2024 or the end of the season at the highest level of Japan's competition.

"Justin Hubner joins the loan status of Wolverhampton Wanderers. The contract will be officially completed after (Hubner) gets a visa. Transfer period until the end of the season (J1 League)," wrote Cerezo Osaka's official statement.

However, Hubner will not be playing in Cerezo Osaka's nearest match on March 16, 2024 against Sagan Tosu.

The problem is, he must undergo a training camp (TC) for the Indonesian national team starting March 17, 2024. This has also been confirmed by Cerezo Osaka.

"Justin Hubner is included in the Indonesian national team for the 2026 World Cup Asian Zone Qualification. So, he will join the team (Cerezo Osaka) after the activities with the Indonesian national team are complete."

"The summons period (Indonesian national team) is from 17-27 March 2024," said the statement from the J1 League club.

Fortunately, Hubner will only miss one game considering the next Cerezo Osaka match will be held on March 30, 2024 against Shonan Bellmare.

Justin Hubner also admitted that he was very happy to be joining Cerezo Osaka. He can't wait to appear for the team nicknamed Sakura.

"I'm very happy to be joining Cerezo Osaka. I can't wait to meet all the fans and supporters and show how I played. Let's make it a great season!" said Hubner.

The J1 League season 2024 will only start on February 23, 2024. Cerezo Osaka is currently sixth in the rankings with five points from three matches.

Apart from that, Justin Hubner's move from Wolves to Cerezo Osaka is the right decision.

The 20-year-old defender did not have a place with Wolves in the 2023/2024 Premier League.

This season, he has only been recorded as sitting on the bench once, namely against Arsenal (December 2, 2023). The rest, Hubner was never included in the squad list.
