JAKARTA The Secretary General of PBSI, Fadil Imran, promised that badminton sports (sports) would contribute medals for Indonesia at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Fadil conveyed this when attending a member meeting (RA) and the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) of the Indonesian National Olympic Committee (KOI) or NOC Indonesia at the Fairmont Senayan Hotel, Jakarta, Friday, March 8, 2024.
"We from PBSI will try to give as many medals as possible for Indonesia as possible," said Fadil in a talk session.
Badminton has recently been in doubt of being able to contribute in Paris after in some tournaments its athletes appeared inconsistent.

Fadil said that the decline could not be a measure for badminton in Paris later. The reason is, the dynamics in badminton are different from other sports.
"If we look back, at the (Olympics) Rio 2016 and Tokyo (2020), those who got the real gold medal were not expected," he said.
Badminton is one of the sports that is Indonesia's mainstay to get medals at every Olympic event.
They are even the only sports in the history of Indonesia's participation in the Olympics that managed to bring home a gold medal.
There have been a total of eight gold medals presented by badminton since 1992 at Barcelona. The only edition that failed to bring home the gold medal was the 2012 London Olympics.
The last time the gold medal was won was at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. At that time, Apriyani Rahayu/Greysia Polii who successfully climbed the highest podium.
