JAKARTA - Christian Horner dismissed doubts about his future as head of the Red Bull team following Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez who finished first and second in the Bahrain Grand Prix, Saturday (2/3).

The 50-year-old British man who has led Red Bull to six constructors' titles and seven rider titles since 2005, said their comprehensive success was thanks to the solid unity and cooperation of the team.

"Financis satu-dua seperti ini adalah hal yang optimal, dan itu tidak akan tercapai tanpa adanya kesatuan yang solid, memiliki tim yang kuat, dan dukungan yang besar dari para mitra dan pemegang saham," kata Horner, dikutip dari AFP, Minggu.

The future of Horner at Red Bull has indeed become speculation following he was released by the Red Bull team on Wednesday (28/2) after the team launched an internal investigation into Horner's behavior towards an employee. Horner denied the allegations.

On Thursday (29/2), a file containing messages and photos was sent via email to a number of prominent figures in Formula 1 and dozens of international press organizations, including AFP, from unnamed sources.

It is not known for certain whether the contents of the file are part of the accusations against Horner.

Meanwhile, when asked if Horner was confident of having the support of Red Bull owners, including majority shareholder Chalerm Yoovidhya, he answered confidently.

'Supporting? Of course, yes. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here!' Horner said.

On the other hand, Horner is also confident that his team can maintain its dominance like in the last three years. According to him, the team provided compact cooperation, insisting that all women and men at the Milton Keynes factory worked very hard to produce a great car.

This is testimony to the hard work behind the scenes. It was a great team performance. The car you see is an aggressive evolution and the design team, the whole team, is doing a great job," Horner said.
