League Results 1: Persija Gol Party 4-1 Against Dewa United

JAKARTA Persija Jakarta returned to winning ways after defeating Dewa United's visitors in the match week 27 of Liga 1 Indonesia 2023/2024.

The Kemayoran Tigers, who previously lost three consecutive matches, secured their three points with a 4-1 victory over Dewa United at the I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Bali, Saturday, March 2, 2024 evening WIB.

Marko Simic and Ryo Matsumura each scored two goals for the home team. Meanwhile, Risto Mitrevski netted his only goal with a penalty.

Simic put Persija ahead in the 15th minute and 29. Mitrevski then reduced the position in the 37th minute which lasted until the halftime whistle.

Six minutes from the dressing room, Matsumura again increased the score for Persija. Only four minutes later the Japanese player added to the Kemayoran Tigers' winning goal.

This result changed Persija's poor record in the previous three matches. Thomas Doll's side previously lost three defeats against Borneo, Madura United, and Arema FC.

Three points made Persija move up to seventh place in the standings. Simic and his friends have now collected 35 points, the result of eight wins and 11 draws.

Dewa United has the same number of points. The team nicknamed Tangsel Warriors also collected the same number of wins and draws.

In the following week, Persija Jakarta will meet their arch-enemy Persib Bandung. Meanwhile, Dewa United will host Persikabo 1973.
