Naturalization Process Almost Completed, Cyrus Margono Can't Wait To Defend The Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA - The naturalization process of the United States-born goalkeeper of Indonesian descent, Cyrus Margono, is almost complete. The player who is now defending the Greek Super League 2 club, Panathinaikos B, admitted that he was not aware of his uniform in the Indonesian national team.

Cyrus Margono expressed her enthusiasm for defending the Indonesian national team through uploads on her personal Instagram. In an upload Wednesday, February 28, 2024, Cyrus also showed a photo of her shoes bearing the Indonesian flag with her typical number 93.

"I can't wait to wear these shoes right away. I'm happy to inform you that my (naturalization) process is almost complete," wrote Cyrus Margo in an upload on her personal Instagram.

"It's been a few weeks since my documents arrived at the State Secretariat and we are close," Cyrus continued, wearing the Indonesian flag symbol.

In the same upload, Cyrus also thanked the staff of the Menpora Expert, Hamdan Hamedan, who helped the process of becoming an Indonesian citizen (WNI).

"Thank you very much to Pak Hamdan Hamedan for your support every day. I am really looking forward to when I can receive Indonesia's identity again, God willing," said Cyrus.

Cyrus said that she could accept Indonesia's identity again because she had dual citizenship.

Even though he has two citizens, Cyrus has now decided to release a citizen of the United States and only wants to hold an Indonesian passport.
