Shin Tae-yong Lepas Dari Radar, Timnas Korea Selatan Jatuhi Pilihan Ke Hwang Sun-hong

Shin Tae-yong is no longer in the KFA shot to train the South Korean national team (doc. AFC).

JAKARTA - The name of the Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, was finally able to escape rumors linking him to the South Korean national team.

The South Korean Football Federation (KFA) has made other options to deal with Taegeuk Warriors replacing Jurgen Klinsmann.

KFA officially appointed Hwang Sun-hong as caretaker or interim coach of the South Korean national team. This news is known from the upload on their Instagram account on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, where Hwang Sun-hong will lead the South Korean U-23 national team.

"KFA has appointed Hwang Sun-hong as the interim coach of the South Korean national team," wrote a statement quoted on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

"He will lead two consecutive matches against Thailand in March 2024 in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers to the appointment of an official coach in early May 2024," the statement continued.

The announcement of Hwang Sun-hong as the interim coach of the South Korean national team at the same time buried the news that Shin Tae-yong was the target of KFA.

Previously, there were rumors that the Indonesian national team coach was in demand by KFA to replace Jurgen Klinsmann who was fired on February 16, 2024.

Shin Tae-yong's name was shot by KFA because of his performance which was considered capable. In addition, another thing that makes this news even faster is Shin Tae-yong's contract status in Indonesia which will end in June 2024.

Despite the issue that Shin Tae-yong will return home, KFA has appointed Hwang. The interim coach will directly lead the South Korean national team during the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualification match against Thailand.

South Korea will then play two remaining qualifying matches in June 2024.
