In Order To Avoid Relegation, Bernardo Tavares: PSM Makassar Work Hard One Step By One Step

Bernardo Tavares is determined to keep PSM Makassar in League 1 next season (doc. PSM).

Bernardo Tavares, PSM Makassar coach, is strongly determined to prevent the team from relegating to Liga 1 2023/2024. He will bring his team back even though he has to work hard step by step.

Currently PSM Makassar is still stuck in 10th position with a collection of 32 points. The number of acquisitions is clearly not safe because Arema FC in the relegation zone follows with 21 points.

Seeing this situation, Tavares realized that Juku Eja needed a process so that he could return to trending in League 1. Therefore, the coach wants Yakob Sayuri and colleagues to continue to show positive changes.

He said, in order to stay in Liga 1 next season, PSM Makassar should not lose point by point in the following matches.

"One step by step. We must remain humble," said Bernardo Tavares as quoted from the PT Liga Indonesia (PT LIB) website on Thursday, February 15, 2024.

"We have only collected 32 points. If we can't, it's more likely to degrade. So, step by step, hard work," he continued.

Bernardo Tavares said the players must work hard in every exercise. This is so that strength can be further improved while Indonesia's top level competition is still at a standstill.

"We have to work hard in training so that our fitness can improve. Including pass quality, both long and short. Including body shape during the duel for the ball," he said.

When the competition resumes, PSM Makassar will immediately face a tough match. They will host Bali United in the 25th week of Liga 1 2023/2024, February 24, 2024.

Four days later, they will play week 26 again by hosting the match against Persebaya Surabaya. The match will take place at Batakan Stadium, Balikpapan, at 19.00 WIB.
