Behind Yogyakarta Football, From Planting Trees To Training Clinics

YOGYAKARTA - The Behind Football Pegadaian Liga 2 2023/24 activity was held in Yogyakarta. The activities ranged from planting trees, training clinics to cleaning the city.

The Behind Football Pegadaian Liga 2 2023/24 activity has taken place in three cities, namely Padang, Gresik, and Medan. Furthermore, the same activity involving supporters was held in Yogyakarta.

The election of Yogyakarta as one of the cities that organize Behind Football activities is not without reason. What is clear is that football supporters in Yogyakata are very fanatical. Supporters and clubs have also been built for a long time because the PSIM club was established before Indonesia's independence.

"Yogyakarta has a high fanaticism towards football. Not only that, it is in this city that a milestone in the history of national football is formed," said Budiman Dalimunthe, PT Liga Indonesia Baru's Chief of Marketing in Nopi with the media, Friday, January 27, 2024 evening WIB. The Ngopi Together activity also became part of Behind Football.

In Yogyakarta there is the PSSI monument. The building, located near the Mandala Krida Stadium, became a monument to football.

Because the building was founded in 1955 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of PSSI which was initiated by Soeratin Sosrosoegondo on April 19, 1930.

This building is a witness to the positive activities of the football stake holder.

This activity is in the form of planting trees, which is one of the series of Behind Football Pegadaian Liga 2 2023/24. There are 20 tree seedlings planted.

"This activity makes us aware of the importance of reforestation around us, especially to maintain oxygen levels. In the long term, the oxygen released by plants makes the environment fresher, shady, comfortable, and beautiful," said Budiman.

The tree planting activity was initiated by PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the league operator with PT Pegadaian by involving football stakeholders such as the management of PSIM Yogyakarta, as well as two groups of supporters, Brajamusti and Maident.

"Pananaman pohon ini merupakan kegiatan sosial di luar aspek teknis seperti kompetisi. Kami berharap dengan keterlibatan semua pihak membuat olahraga semakin bagus, lingkungan terjaga, dan kekompadakan antara suporter semakin dibangun," ujar Deputi Bisnis Area Yogyakarta PT Pegadaian, Yohanes Wulang.

Not only helping to plant trees, the two groups of supporters also received an understanding from Pegadaian about how to manage waste into gold savings.
