Indonesia Masters 2024: Lanny/Ribka Women's Doubles Burden

JAKARTA Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto will bear the burden of women's doubles at the Indonesia Masters 2024 after becoming the only remaining representative in the event.

The pair qualified for the quarter-finals after stopping the United States representative, Annie Xu/Krry Xu, with a score of 21-19 and 21-18 at Istora Gelora Bung Karni, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, January 25, 2024, evening WIB.

In the next round, Friday, January 26, 2024, Lanny/Ribka will face the Dutch representatives, Debora Jille/Cheryl Seinen, who stopped Lee Yu Lim/Shin Seung Chan (South Korea).

"We watched the match again (they) against (the couple) South Korea. We studied weaknesses, advantages, and cooperation. Most importantly, keep your focus on tomorrow and be more resistant," said Ribka after the match.

Lanny/Ribka are the only women's doubles left in this Super 500 BWF level event. Therefore, Indonesia hopes that the title from this number will be on their shoulders.

Previously, two of their colleagues, Jesita Putri Miantoro/Febi Setianingrum and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari/Rachel Alllessya Rose, had already lost.

Lanny/Ribka are the seventh representatives of Indonesia who have qualified for the quarter-finals. Six tickets were previously secured by men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, and mixes.

In the men's and women's singles, there are Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung. Then, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin, and Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.

Finally, from the mixed doubles, the only ticket belongs to Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati.
