JAKARTA The runner-up for the 2023 MotoGP season, Jorge Martin, opens the possibility to join Honda in order to compete with the Factory team.

Martin was not promoted to the Ducati Factory team this season even though he left as runner-up with yesterday's Pramac Racing Satellite team.

Despite staying in Pramac, Martin began warning Ducati that he could move at any time if he didn't get a promotion to the factory team he had dreamed of.

"If I see Honda evolving or in the long term it could be a superior project then it would obviously be a good choice," he was quoted as saying by Crash.

Martin said that currently he is still enjoying his time in Ducati. However, he set a target to move to the Factory in the 2025 competition season.

"My priority is 100 percent for 2025, the Factory team. My goal is the Ducati Factory team because this is the factory where I am. I know his motorbike and I have a lot of projections at this factory," he said.

"If they don't want me or understand that I'm not the best, I'll look for something else," he added.

In the contract clause, Martin automatically moved to the Ducati Factory if he became world champion last year. Unfortunately, he failed to compete with Francesco Bagnaia in MotoGP 2023.

Ducati's decision not to promote Martin made Enea Bastianini stay at the Factory. This Italian racer was chosen by Ducati for promotion by the end of 2022, but his debut was mostly injured.
