JAKARTA Italian racer, Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia, wants to make history the first rider to win MotoGP and World Superbike (WSBK).

Currently, the 26-year-old racer has won MotoGP twice. The two titles were won in 2022 and the 2023 season was only finished last month.

Bagnaia did not rule out the possibility that one day he would move to WSBK even though he is currently still active as a MotoGP rider. However, he said it was not yet time to do that.

"I think about it occasionally (moving to World Superbike)," he said admitting the passion he had, as quoted from Crash.

"I like to see numbers and statistics at the end of the season. Wikipedia is a page I often visit! I also want to win in Superbike (World), but there is still time," he added.

So far, there have been several names who have changed competitions from MotoGP to WSBK or vice versa. However, none of them have been able to carve out success in the two events.

Troy Bayliss, Colin Edwards, Nicky Hayden, James Toseland, and Ben Spies are all drivers who have tried to win titles in MotoGP and WSBK. However, all of them didn't succeed.

The names above already had titles in one of the classes when they decided to move to another class. Unfortunately, their success could not continue.

One of the riders who almost got the title from the two classes above was Max Biaggi. He won WSBK twice, respectively in 2010 and 2012.

However, he failed to get the title when he moved to MotoGP. His best achievement in this race was runners-up in three editions, namely 1998 (500cc), 2001 (500cc), and 2002 (MotoGP).
