The Desire For Naturalization Of Players Is Still Strong, Erick Thohir Mentions Thom Haye And Maarten Paes

JAKARTA - The desire for naturalization of players is still passionate for the General Chairperson (Ketum) of PSSI, Erick Thohir. The last time he will pursue the naturalization process of Ragnar Oratmangoen.

Later, the names that were targeted by Erick Thohir's leadership increased. He mentioned two other names, namely Thom Haye and Maarten Paes.

This was revealed by Erick Thohir through uploads on his personal social media. After revealing the continuation of Ragnar's naturalization, the chairman of PSSI also provided further news regarding the player in the other Dutch League, Thom Haye.

According to Erick Thohir, the SC Heerenveen player also showed interest in getting closer to the Indonesian national team.

He also mentioned the names of other players projected in the naturalization project, namely the United States League goalkeeper (MLS), FC Dallas, Maarten Paes.

"Hopefully Ragnar Oratmangoen will join him as a winger and can play as a striker," Erick said on his Instagram account quoted on Tuesday, December 19.

Then, we are still waiting for Thom Haye too. He is a defensive midfielder and seems to want (naturalization). Just like Maarten Paes, he is the main goalkeeper of FC Dallas," he said.

Some time ago, PSSI has been aggressively carrying out player naturalization. This step is considered to be able to optimize the performance of the Indonesian national team, which is currently busy with agendas in various age groups.

This year alone, there are four naturalized players who have legally strengthened the Indonesian national team. They are Shayne Pattynama, Ivar Jenner, Rafael Struick, and Justin Hubner.

Previously, PSSI also naturalized two players, namely Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh. There are still two more names who will become new members of the Indonesian national team, namely Jay Idzes and Nathan Tjoe A On.

The two names only need to take the oath of Indonesian citizens (WNI) before getting a passport and ID card.
