Lautaro Martinez Admits Inter Milan Are Under Pressure As Juventus Go To The Top

JAKARTA - Inter Milan are always under pressure once Juventus manages to get past them and even win the top of the Italian Serie A standings. Striker Lautaro Martinez admits he is not easy to compete with Juve in the hunt for the Scudetto.

Juve put pressure on Inter after a narrow 1-0 win over Napoli. The victory saw Juve claim the top position previously controlled by Inter.

However, the Nerazzurri still have the opportunity to reclaim the position because the points between the two teams are close together.

The problem is, Simone Inzaghi's team even felt tense and nervous when they hosted Udinese at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, Sunday, December 10 in the morning WIB.

Luckily, they finally won 4-0. But before breaking into the opponent's goal, Inter had to wait until the 36th minute. In fact, they were only able to break the deadlock through the penalty point that was completed by Hakan Calhanoglu.

After that goal, Inter finally played more calmly and managed to add up to three goals. Starting from Federico Dimarco, Marcus Thuram who received Henrikh Mkhitaryan's cross and closed by Martinez.

This was Martinez's 14th goal to confirm him as the top scorer of the Italian Serie A. The Argentine national team striker, in total, has scored 16 goals in various competitions.

"The situation was not easy after we found out Juventus won the game. But the important thing is how to respond to that," Martinez said.

"We played at high tempo and tried to grab the ball back quickly. We also created a lot of chances to force the opposing team to defend more," said the 26-year-old player.

"Inter Milan is a big team. We always train hard every day. You can also see how big the influence of the coach [Inzaghi] is. We always try to follow instructions so we can play according to football's ideas," he said.

Meanwhile, Inzaghi asked players to stay focused on the team and ignore other teams. Inzaghi felt the need to warn the players because they were under pressure for always playing after Juve.

If La Vecchia laca win then Inter players will no longer focus on their matches.

"We should concentrate on our own team and don't care what we do outside the team. So far, we have played more after the Juve match. But over time we are getting used to that schedule," said Inzaghi.

"It's just that the player's response is very good. They work extra hard and always play with high enthusiasm," he said.

Inter do have bag statistics so they can perch at the top of the standings. The team scored 37 goals and conceded only seven goals.

Goalkeeper Yann Sommer was recorded 10 times as clean sheet. A very good achievement even though they have to compete fiercely at Juve.
