Tyson Fury May Be The Toughest Opponent In Oleksandr Usyk's Career

JAKARTA Egis Klimas, manager of heavyweight boxer Oleksandr Usyk, assesses that Tyson Fury is likely to be the toughest opponent in his client's career journey.

Usyk, the rulers of the heavyweight belts IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBO and Fury, the WBC champions, will enter the ring on February 17, 2024, in Saudi Arabia to win the undisputed world title.

"We've been working to make this fight a very long time ago and finally we made it."

"Of course this is not an easy fight. It will probably be the hardest fight in Oleksandr (Usyk)'s career," Egis said as quoted by Boxing Scene.

Egis said that Usyk, the winner of the Olympic gold medal and the undisputed cruiserweight world champion in 2018, was confident enough to face this duel.

"Don't forget that as the cruiserweight champion Oleksandr already holds the four championship belts. No one believes that he has made it this far in the heavyweight division," said Egis.

"No one believes that he can enter and dominate the heavyweight division. I am blessed to be working with Oleksandr."

"Of course this means a lot to me. He is a very good human being, he is not jealous, he always smiles, he likes to greet people. It's great to be with Oleksandr. This will be a great show. The biggest show," he added.

The two fighters boarded the ring after getting a different result in their last duel.

Usyk defended his belt against Daniel Dubois in August 2023, while Fury made one of the worst appearances in his career against Francis Ngannou.

In the cross-disciplinary duel, Fury was made to fall by the former UFC heavyweight champion.
